Focusing on a visual narrative around the mythological figure of a Muse, goddess of creative inspiration, the print relates the tale of a fierce competition between the Sirens and the Muses. It is said that Hera, queen of the gods, persuaded the Sirens to challenge the Muses to a singing contest. The victorious Muses plucked out the Sirens’ feathers and made them into crowns. The disparate elements from the vegetal and mineral worlds brought onto the gridded layout give life to the narrative.
